Where: In her motor home
Why: Her handgun went off
How: Her dog knocked her handgun off the seat
Wednesday night 53 year old Janice Jones was shot in her leg in her motorhome when her dog knocked her handgun off of a seat.
"I didn't think Tombo could cause such a problem," Jones said. "Next time I eat he's gonna be locked in his crate."
Animal control officer Janet Ngo conforms that Tombo had appeared to be malnourished.
"It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops," Ngo said. "Poor dog had cigarette burns on his forehead."
California Highway Patrol press liaison Tammy Rye said Jones was in trouble despite not caring of her dog.
"Jones is being cited for expired plates," Rye said. "Also, she did not have her gun registered causing a problem with the county's district attorney's office."
